Reasons Not To Believe In Love Part XXXXX
Look at a picture of two people on their wedding day who are hopelessly, desperately in love. You can see that their eyes shine when they look at each other, and that they know nothing can ever tear them apart. They make a stunning couple, the life and soul of the party. They make each other laugh.
Find those two people twenty five years down the line. They're not living in the same house anymore. Their babies have grown up. Their faces haven't changed all that much, but their hearts have. They fell out of love. They lost their faith in marriage, in fidelity, in love itself. They gave up trying.
They both had affairs. Time and time again they fought to be together, but it didn't work. Who would have thought the golden couple would ever divorce? You can't believe it when you hear the news. They were so happy.
Sometimes love just ain't enough.

Maybe its because they had a daughter like you.
i seriously wonder, if my marriage will make it. we try, but we keep fucking up along the way. and if we're lucky, then it will be our friendship that keeps us together. there's love in that too. i just have to keep myself from wanting more, because maybe that doesn't exist anyway.
Occasionally it turns out completely different than what you describe.
I met my wife for the first time when she was 13, I was 16. I spoke with her over the CB radio one night. That initial "radio check" turned into us sitting there talking all night, well until 5 AM anyway. When we said our good nights to each other I knew then and there that we would be married. It was several months before we ever saw each other face to face.
That was back in 1976. Everything hasn't always been bliss, there have been good times and bad times but we always tried to face them together.
We are still together and still very much in love, with each other.
Sometimes it works out........
its true. love is not enough.
perserverence, determination, and the art of compromise are also necessary.
but the keys to making a relationship work, in my opinion (based on the mistakes i made, not the things i've done right), are trust and respect. if you dont have either of those, having love is pointless. its even arguable that without trust and respect, having love is impossible.
unfortunately, we're not taught that. we're taught that love is like in fairy tales. that love can conquer all. that "all you need is love" to quote the beatles.
we're brainwashed, and deceived for our entire childhoods. and then we finally discover how far off course we've been led...
and love...
becomes a cunt ;)
LOL Anonymous... I wasn't actually talking about my parents?!
