Leopards, Spots and a Note on Frigidity

To reiterate on both my post on Chasing Amy, and Illegible's post on Why The Past Is Important, let me just frankly state that anybody that bases a relationship decision on their partner's past is wrong.

Although I'm more predisposed to sluts than saints, I would still find it hard to write off a girl for being 'boring', 'tame' or 'frigid'. Not very hard, mind you, but hard nonetheless. It is human nature to change, to desire change. Everybody is a hundred times deeper when you find yourselves going out with them.

I've heard the phrase 'a lepoard never changes its spots' bandied around far too much in the relationship stakes. What do people mean? That someone is a write-off because they did something years ago? Even the fact of them regretting or not regretting is irrelevant. A person's past, although having an effect on their future, is not a magic 8-ball for predicting it. You live, you learn, you get the t-shirt, you move on.

Then again, I did go out with a girl that had a habit of fucking over her boyfriends, and she did the same to me. But, as we all know, love is a cunt, and having a morally correct stance will never mean you won't get fucked over. In fact, you probably will, loser. Spin on it.
