What does it take?

I just asked somebody if they ever think about - down the line - what it'd take to achieve a stable marriage. Bear in mind that we're talking a possible 30-60 years here!

He had not thought about it all that much. So, firstly - have you ever thought about it? And do women think about this lot, or are they as ambivalent as men?
