Thank Fuck
A little off-topic, but it just proves what a cunt love / sex could be...
A friend of mine asked me tonight whether I used protection with a certain person I had a one night stand with last year. Thankfully, my response was positive.
Apparently this guy has Hepatitis C. I wonder if he knew then, because had he not insisted on using protection, I probably wouldn't have.
I'd be in an absolute state right now if we hadn't used a condom that night. It's really brought home to me the importance of practising safer sex. That one night could have caused so many problems.
Let this be a lesson to us all... And thank God for this bit: "Hepatitis C is not known to be transmitted by kissing or by oral sex or oral/anal* sexual practices, however Hepatitis A and B can be transmitted this way."
NB I did not practise anal sex... that was just part of the quote.

i keep hearing from men, that they don't use condoms. they rely on the girl taking the pill. do you not see the problem here? the pill does not protect you from anything, not even unwanted pregnancies.
then they tell me, that they have never had an aids test. seriously? fuck! about damn time you run down and have that checked now.
aids is on the rise and people are being so damn careless. maybe my generation just had it driven into our heads all the time. wear condoms to protect yourself from babies, diseases and aids. even if they don't really 100% protect you against aids. never trust a woman on a pill. she may have to take medicine and not realize that her pill won't be effective. she may just forget one. and women on the pill can't smell men right. chances are, if she stops taking it, she'll hate you.
and women, make sure you don't let him in without one. you got lucky this time illegible. i hope you'll keep it in mind.
I completely agree with you. I know I got lucky - seriously lucky. I won't be messing around again. After a previous experience with a guy accusing me of giving him something, I got tested, and haven't gone unprotected since. And I won't again.
If you *did* get Hep C, I wonder if there's some sort of swingers club for similarly infected people, where huge unprotected orgies are just the standard because they're all fucked anyway... Probably money in that idea... Loose chix...
Did I type that out loud?
Hahahahaha!
My dad got Hep. C from shooting up Heroin with dirty needles, and my mom swears he did his best to give the two of us the disease. It's a terrible thing to watch someone die over (many of daddy's friends have passed on because of it), but it is appalling when that person refuses to quit drinking or drugging in order to save his own life. My dad falls under that category. On a good day, he looks like warmed over death.
I'm happy that you played it safe and hope you continue doing so.
Going back to this one from WAY BACK WHEN, I read an article recently (in a Cosmo-type mag) about dating groups for the infected. They do actually exist.
