What Women Want

Something has forced me to ponder what exactly I do want.

When I was younger, I dated the college jock. You know, the good looking guy that everyone fancied. It was hell. I watched my friends flirt with him, I watched his female friends flirt with him, I watched everyone's faces, like "What's he doing with her?". Girls literally tried to pull him right under my nose. And every time, I snapped, which just reinforced the imbalance.

"Why's she so insecure?"
"She's jealous of xxx" (insert girls' name)

So, after him, I went for an average-looking guy. Not everyone's cup of tea. Not ugly, just not cool. Little sixteen year olds who worked in the chip shop wanted him, but I could just about deal with that.

But what I've learned over the years is that the less wanted men actually spent more of their time wanting. And it's better to have people saying, "Wow, your boyfriend's gorgeous", rather than, "You could do better".

What's really irritating is a guy who's dating a girl who's clearly out of his league, yet still dabbles in other women. What the fuck? It's a thousand times more annoying than a guy who is stunning and could have anyone he wanted, because he's the one doing the trying.

I personally would rather have a bloke that other women lust after than a guy who lusts after other women in vain.

"He's never cheated on me."
Yeah, but only because no other girl accepted the offer.

I think the issue here is that I'm a jealous, insecure, needy cow that has an innate despisal for other women, and thanks to experience, hates men.
