Ah, sorry D - the combined popularity of the radio blog and the totally false advertising of our hosts, meant that hosting was terminated on Monday because their servers couldn't handle the bandwidth they originally said they could. Fucking twats.

As LIAC is a totally non-profit organisation, run mainly on bitterness and cuntitude, we can't afford to start spending money on decent hosting for streaming music. But we will try and figure something out. So, until further notice... :(

Scum. On the technology side of it, saw a nifty thing from the makers of the fabulous Audio Hijack Pro, called Nice Cast. The.
Horrid twee name, but interesting functionality. The MCPS-PRS Alliance might start to take an interest in us if we used it, though.

Unfortunately, using NiceCast would involve having a high-enough speed home connection to serve all the listeners. Which is kinda the problem, and why we'd need a "proper" host regardless.

We are working on the hosting though - there are some very cheap ones out there.

And you're right - LIAC Radio was (disclaimer: perhaps) completely illegal in any regard. But with no central store of download statistics (which Radio Blogs do not have) nobody can be prosecuted properly and we'd just get an initial legal threat telling us to take it down, which we would.
