I'll love you today and then the rest of my life

I recently saw the movie Before Sunrise. In the film, Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy meet on a train en route to Vienna. They instantly have a connection with each other as they discuss random topics. As the train finally gets to Vienna, they spontaneously decide to get out together and wander the streets till morning, when Ethan Hawke will have to catch a flight and Julie Delpy will have to get back on to a train. They have this perfect little romance, including love and sex, though they know they have to part the next day and may possibly never see each other again.

Would you be willing to do this as well?

I believe that this is the kind of love, one would look back on and think of as the greatest experience. You would have an intense love, no problems, and then you get to miss them forever. It's beautiful and tragic all in one. You would have to go into it knowing that this love couldn't last forever. Your heart would inevitably be broken.

Call me crazy, but I'm in love with the idea. Maybe that's obvious.

I wouldn't mind such an idea as long as my stranger isn't fully equipped with one or more STDs and isn't running from the police as a murder suspect. Call me crazy, but it is hard to trust a stranger enough to open up, possibly share some bizarre love connection, and be no one but me in a short span of time. Maybe I'm not crazy, just practical.

It's not as great as you think. I had a love affair while in London for two weeks. The love affair was only the last four days and we didn't have to part ways, but I ended it once back in the states. Now it is possibly the worst decision I've ever made. I haven't talked to her in over a year, I think about her daily, and I would just like to know how she is getting along. It's torture.
